Happy Times Activities - Disability Champions!BIG THANKS to everyone that voted.
We didn't win but didn't mind and felt over the moon to be shortlisted in this fantastic category of 'Disability Champion'. This is an incredible achievement and Steve Morgan went above and beyond as per usual and awarded everyone at the event with £1000 and Certificate. We were delighted, what an amazing surprise! Helen & Michelle loving the much deserved day out
Everything about The Awards Ceremony was top class and representing Happy Times was myself (Helen) and Michelle. The all day event at Cheshire's Carden Park was a proper posh do and in a true Bridget Jones fashion my shirt button popped off as I was about to leave the house, so in a panic for time stappled it - You can count on me to be classy and resourceful! Once there we were greeted by lots of smiles from people representing lots of incredible organisations, some we knew and some we never. Everyone wore name badges and sat around big tables in a fancy hall. We listened to lots of real, emotional and inspirational stories and then got split into smaller groups for our workshops. After a very lovely buffet style lunch with so many cakes and a stroll around the gardens in the sunshine, we went back to the fancy hall for the awards.
The amazing organisations that were shortlisted Back at the centre our Participants got excited about the award too and are very happy to see the £1000 being spent on trips out as voted for at our recent Parliament meeting. The reason being people need to be getting back out into the community again and we are delighted to help support people to do this. First up is Barnstondale (Aug) followed by a canal boat trip (Sep). Thank you to the Steve Morgan Foundation and to everyone that voted for us to win. Zoe, Roy & Emily with our framed certificate! |
