7th October 'First Week'
Our very first Happy Go started with an introduction, we heard all about the course from Helen, Mel and Cathy and everyone is eager to start. We chatted to each other, played some group games which were fun and we are all looking forward to next week which is on Nutrition, Diet and Balance.
14th October 'Diet and Balance'
After our check in we watched a short film on nutrition and food balance which was really good. Our partner work was fun and we worked as a team to figure out if the food items went on the 'Eat Good Plate', I learnt that everyone had different opinions. We made smoothies and I tried different ones and liked all - Strawberry and banana and kale and apple٫ mango with lime juice. Everyone was given an amazing journal and I can't wait for next week which is 'Physical Movements'.
21st October 'Movement'
We watched a film about exercise and did a quiz that helped us learn why exercise is so good for us. Then it was time for Circuit training and we had quick water breaks. We have 5 stations: Ball dribble - Wall bounce - Bean bag catch n' throw and Cross crawl (Opposite hand to knee then foot). Everyone done so well and it was fun. We had some energy left, so walked to the outdoor gym, behind the Centre. I walked around the circle with Mel a couple of times (warm up and cool down) Tom ran around it twice! and some people went on the equipment with Helen and Cathy. We all had a great time and next week it's 'Mental health and stress'.
28th October 'Stress and Mental Health'
I thought this week was amazing. The video shared so much information about mental health and stress and we learnt lots, including about caffeine and we shared tips and techniques on how bring ourselves to calm. Movements today were in team lines, and we made up some great routines together that included Yoga. Next week is on sleep and I can't wait.
4th November 'Sleep'
Wow we learnt lots of stuff about sleep today. The videos were amazing and we learnt from Mel, Cathy and from each other too - everyone shared and some people were the same and some different. Movements in the second part of the session today seen us using coloured resistant bands and we did this in the same way we do our circuits, using the full centre and splitting up into 2 teams and working alone too. It feels good learning and trying new things.
